SISenior InternThe Fractional Executive Panel

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about hiring a fractional executive — or joining the panel as one.

For companies

What is a fractional executive?
A fractional executive is an experienced senior leader — a CFO, COO, CMO, sales head or specialist — who works with your company part-time, for a few hours or days a week, instead of as a full-time hire. You get senior judgment and hands-on execution at a fraction of the cost and commitment of a permanent C-suite salary.
How is Senior Intern different from a recruitment agency or consultancy?
We’re neither. A consultancy hands you a deck and leaves; a recruiter fills a permanent seat and charges a large placement fee. Senior Intern is a curated panel of verified senior professionals who embed in your business around a clear outcome, on one simple contract, for exactly as long as the problem needs them.
How much does a fractional executive cost?
Far less than a full-time hire. Because you only pay for the hours that matter, a fractional engagement typically costs a fraction of a comparable full-time salary. Pricing is set per engagement by seniority and scope — submit a brief and we’ll send a tailored proposal with no obligation.
What roles can I hire — is it only CFOs and CXOs?
Every senior function, at every level. The panel spans Finance (Fractional CFO, Financial Controller), Operations (COO), Sales & Revenue, Marketing (CMO), People & HR (CHRO), Technology, Strategy and Product — from seasoned senior managers through to full C-suite. Our most requested role is the fractional CFO, often for a fundraise, audit or cash-flow crunch.
How quickly can a Senior Intern start?
In days, not quarters. You describe the challenge in plain words, we diagnose the root cause and shortlist verified panelists who have solved it before, and a real person reviews every match before it reaches you. No recruitment cycle, no six-month search.
What if the engagement isn’t working?
Every engagement runs on one contract through Senior Intern, with payment protection and a single point of accountability. If something isn’t working, you raise it with us and we work with both sides to put it right — because the engagement lives on our platform, not in a side arrangement.

For senior professionals

Why is it called “Senior Intern”?
Because “intern” is about attitude, not age — showing up curious, useful and ready to contribute, without ego or politics. A Senior Intern pairs a veteran’s judgment with a beginner’s hunger. It’s a badge of honour for people who’ve earned the right to work differently.
Who can join the panel?
Experienced professionals across every senior function — whether you’re recently retired, stepping back from full-time work, or simply want to contribute on your own terms. Empanelment is by application and every member is personally verified, so the panel stays curated and credible.
How much time does a fractional engagement take?
As little or as much as you choose — a few hours a week, a day a week, or project-based. You pick the problems you work on and the companies you believe in. Contribution without the commute, the politics or the grind.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining the panel is free — empanelment is an honour we extend, not a fee we charge. Companies pay for engagements; you earn for the work you do.
Will my profile be public?
No. Profiles are sealed by design — companies browse your verified track record, but your name and identity are only revealed once an engagement is signed. Nothing is published without your say-so.
